"Good, I finally convinced you. Off you go, Ito." Melora turned to walk, trudging through the sand. She stopped when she heard the sound of his footsteps thumping against the sand behind her. "Um...when you said "I will go", what were you meaning by that, exactly?" Melora's heart sank at the idea that she was about to be followed around by her seemingly new companion. "Why were you planning on following me?"

"You will die, and I will collect." He said, trying to hide the insideous smile from lighting his eyes. His steps were light and graceful behind her large clumsy ones, suddenly raising the question to himself of why a Hunter would be so uncoordinated.
A shrill ringing in Melora's pocket signaled a phone call, the ID on the front probably one she'd never expected to see.
Naoto practically winced at the racous sound, taking a step back and pausing, waiting to see what would happen and who was calling. He'd never been a nosy person until he'd been turned. He found it rather stimulating.

"No, not dying. Oh christ...go home or something. I am too busy to put up with this shit." She plucked her phone from her pocket, not bothering to check the caller ID because she was growing more annoyed by the minute. She pressed the device to her ear. "Как вы делаете? Это Melora." She answered, switching freely between a tone of complete annoyance with the creature standing beside her to a tone of professionalism.

"What, you didn't miss me?" A smoothly arrogant voice clipped from on the other end of the receiver. "I'm utterly wounded, Little Hunter."
Naoto strained his ears to hear the voice on the phone, relying on his knowledge of just about everything to pin the source of it. But why would a man so important as the Gallian be calling this waif of a Hunter? Granted, they'd recently been in dire straights with one another, but surely the other vampire wasn't thinking... He shuddered, sticking out his tongue in disgust.

"Azura!" She responded, immediately knowing the snarky voice on the other end of the phone. Immediately a million questions flooded her mind, but she kept herself from asking in favor of allowing him to state the business of his call. One question did escape her lips, however, one that didn't fall along the lines of business, but one that she wanted to know. "How are you?"
Noticing the vampire in the background stick his tongue out had put a damper on her now brightened mood, however, and she sneered at him for making such a gesture, making sure to keep her annoyance silent so that Azura wouldn't be bothered with what she was doing at the time.

"Tired and irritated, you?" he asked, sounding as if there was no greater purpose to his call other than to speak to her. This solidified Naoto's assumption. He had a thing for this girl. Gross. He responded to her sneer with a silent smile, cleverness and secretive knowledge tucked within.

"I'm.....dealing with someone I've met in my travels. I already quite dislike him." Her tone turned sour at the thought that this man intended to follow her until her father was killed. "A new vampire companion I guess you could say....if you use the term "companion" looser than a--" She stopped herself from continuing that terrible and dirty comparison. "...Anyway, what have you been keeping busy with as of late?"

Azura's laugh started out quiet, then turned into a full out belly laugh, complete with him placing a hand to his stomach in an effort to quell the ache that suddenly started there. "A new vampire companion? So you've replaced me. I see how it is. No longer deserving of your hate I will continue to blugeon myself in the head with stupid officials until I die and early death of an intentional drug overdose." The line gre quiet again save for his giggles. "I'm at the Moroi Citadel, at the moment. Speaking to the kid King about our travels."

"Oh Azura, you know no one can replace you. No one makes fun of me quite the way you do, this guy least of all," She teased, intending to make him laugh more. It was nice to hear happiness, seeing as her life had pretty much been devoid of such since she had gone back to the Banglaire. "The king of the Moroi, Christopher something or other? I've heard of him. Striking how he's so similar to you, isn't it? Have you gotten the creepy feeling of looking in a mirror yet?" She laughed, genuinely wondering how such a string of coincidences had occurred. "I kind of figured you were having to deal with incompetent people. I thought of that earlier, in fact."

"Good. Only I can insult you without my getting personally involved. Happen to catch the guy's name?" He asked, listening to the wall for activity within the study and noting the absence of Christopher's heartbeat. "Yeah, that's him. And I have noticed a few things, but his parents died so much earlier than both of mine, so that must make it mere happenstance. I doubt the murders on either side have anything in common with one another." He laughed again. "Mirror? No no, Little Hunter, I'm much better good looking."
Talking like chums, they were and for once, the parrot voiced his concerns. "Fuck this!" it said, voice a little abrasive to his ears.

"Keep that parrot quiet before I убийство it," She hissed at the bird. "Ito, he said. He's a vampire, and an unsettlingly quiet one at that. I wouldn't be surprised if he was going to murder me any second, seeing as we've just met. But he insists on following me. And..." Melora took a moment to look at the man, hand clasped to his ear at the squawking of the bird. "You're made me soft, Azura. For the first time in my life I don't feel like killing him the first time he happened to annoy me." A sigh escaped her lips. "As for my bell, did you manage to keep it safe? I'm starting to think we don't have much time left in our conversation." She felt genuinely disappointed by that fact.

"The bell is safe," he replied, but the rest of the conversation was lost because Naoto had plucked the phone from her fingertips, holding it gingerly as he brought the reciever to his lips. "My apologies, Gallu." He said, before handing up the call and dropping the phone into the bare bits of sand an rock that littered the ground. "Talking too much. If you like him so much, don't give him everything he desires."

Melora scooped up the phone and met him face to face. He was just barely taller than her. She was close to him, close enough that he would feel her breath on his nose. Her eyes narrowed at him, reading his expression. Why had he just done something so rude? And why was it that he was attempting to give her advice on...liking Azura? Oh God, the thought stuck trapped in her mind like guilt to the back of her head.
Melora dangled the now partially broken phone between her two fingers, sure that she was dangling it in his line of sight. "This," she said, indicating that she was talking about her phone, "Is not how you make friends. If you absolutely have to follow me then do it, but try not to piss off the woman with the silver bullets."
With that she turned on her heels, making her way down the slope. The phone would still work if she held it together a certain way, she figured out after inspecting it. As for right now she wouldn't have time to piece it together, so calls would have to wait.

"Your silver bullets don't frighten me," he finished with a laugh, stepping down the slope after her. She had come very close to him, and almost out of reflex he'd nearly stabbed her. Lucky for both of them he could contain himself. Lucky for him because the Akoto would pitch a fit if he'd accidently killed a woman who could potentially be the Gallu's lover, though it didn't look like it. She was far too forced and awkward around him, and he, from what he could hear, was smooth as glass. He must have had many women, he deduced with a logical nod.

I liked him better when he was quiet. She told Vetis.
I like him because he pisses you off. Vetis replied.
A hate/hate relationship, all contained within one person. How completely and utterly insane she'd seem if anyone knew.
"What do you know about my father anyway, Ito?" She asked as she continued to trudge across the sandy night desert. Melora much preferred Azura, who would give her information without being prompted, whether he he was aware of it or not. Conversation was forced with this guy. If she wasn't asking him something, she wasn't being spoken to. Unless he had something to say about her non-existent love life, apparently.
