Thomas broke into a jog to keep up. Between ragged breaths he answered. "Fairly, the loons would be in town, and she knows her way around. She'll be fine." The protective element in his voice was striking. He did care for his family deeply, especially his sisters, and would do everything in his power to keep them safe. Too bad that wouldn't be enough against the 'demons'.
Quickly, her form disappeared ahead of them.

Ahroun resisted the urge to break into a full out run. He was irritated at two things, the speed at which the girl had left them, and the slowness of the male. "Shouldn't be too much longer should it? If we keep up this pace. Can you run any faster?" He tried to not sound annoyed in his speech. "I don't like that she is alone despite your 'loons' whatever those are seem to be taken care of. I have a feeling those aren't what I should be worried about in these parts anyway, since I don' be knowin' all that much about where I be."

Thomas broke into a full sprint then, but with human legs he could only move so fast.
Abruptly, and only the Were would be able to hear it, the hoofbeats stopped dead.
Rima turned her head just in time to see what had stopped the mare. Whatever it was scared them both apparently. She couldn't tell the hooded form's gender, but death radiated out from it. A sinking feeling tightened her throat and tensed her stomach, silencing her voice before it could even leave her parted lips.
The form laughed quietly, starting to approach. Her heart beat painfully against her ribs, like a bird trying to break free from a cage.

In response to the sudden stop, forgetting that he was supposed to be hiding his true nature, Ahroun promptly picked up Thomas and broke into a sprint that made the trees blur beside them. "This does not bode well..." He said to Thomas without breaking stride. He feared what type of scene he might come upon, he smelled the death and knew it all too well.

"What the hell!?" Thomas's eyes went wide in alarm. "Put me down, and what doesn't bode well?"
Split second timing was all it took for her body to be moved from the horse's back, sending the creature fleeing back in the males' direction. "Hmm. Your fear is delicious," a cold voice spoke. Eerie eyes flared with violet flames before pain jarred Rima from the trance like state it had inflicted. What was happening? This creature... was biting... her neck?! The demons that the neighbors had preached about.
She pushed as hard as she could muster, making no progress, but feeling her vision blurr as more blood was forcibly pulled from her system.

He didn't really want to tell him that his sister was falling victim to a Vampire this very second though he knew it to be true. "Your sister is in danger." Was all he stated as he seemed to pick up speed. His hair started to grow longer and his speed began to increase even more. The distance between the two parties lessened drastically but he knew he was already too late for her.

Thomas's eyes flared, first with protection for his sister, then in horror at what this other man was doing. A demon? "What are you? How do you know these things?" His voice was stunned, worried for his sister though.
Rima's eyes rolled back in her head, and she stilled. The cloaked figure tsked. "Such a pretty thing, such a waste." He mused aloud, streaking her chin with her own blood as he brushed the strands from her face to tilt it in his direction for better viewing. A thought occurred to him, and with the soft sound of teeth on flesh, he places his wrist over her mouth, forcing the blood down her throat. Right there, mere feet from where he'd dismounted the young woman, is where he left her as soon as he knew she'd awaken.
The horse reared in front of the men, startled and panicked, whites of its eyes showing in fear. One of its fronts hooves nearly struck Conor.

Ahroun dodged the hoof deftly and knelt over Rima's now cold to the touch body. "We were too late..." He looked over his shoulder at Thomas. "Your sister is no longer with us..." He hung his head for a second the stood up with a jolt noticing the blood on her lips for the first time. "And the murderer turned her too!!" Grabbing the reigns of the horse he tossed them at Thomas. "Go! Get out of here or she will turn you too!" The Werewolf didn't stick around to see if Thomas got the message. Instead, he put his nose in the air to catch the scent of the Vampire, as he darted off into the forest after it he began to change forms. The hair on his arms quickly became thick fur and his face elongated as his jaw filled with new, sharp teeth. The change happened quickly and soon what was once a man was now a wolf-man beast barreling after the scent of its enemy.

Thomas's breath caught. Forget horror, this was a thousand times worse. How could he loose his twin? Twins were the closest bond a sibling could share! Not his sister, it couldn't happen, couldn't have happened. Wait. Turn him too? What in God's name did that mean? So he was a demon and... who knew what? Seconds after he'd moved, Thomas flicked the horses reins aside, dropping to his knees and cradling his sister's head in his lap.
A small, shallow breath came from between her parted lips, and he lowered his head to make certain that it hadn't been a trick of sound. No, she'd inhaled, but there was no heart beat. How could that be?
"Thomas." The words were dry and crackling, tears pooling in the corners of her eyes. The soft raven waves that were her hair were splayed out under her head. Something was different about him, the sounds, everything. No... what was that rushing? Already it made her mouth water. Where was it coming from?
"I'm here." He murmured, lowering his head.
There it was, his neck, a tiny point in his neck which promised ultimate salvation. Reaching on instict alone, she tipped her face up, and sank her teeth into the flesh there. Blood flowed into her mouth with little protest, stopping the cries of hunger in her throat.
Meanwhile, the vampire which turned Rima was calmly proceeding through the forest, hunger stiffled for now.

As the smell of the Vampire got stronger, Ahroun slowed down. He never enjoyed killing, but if it had to be done then it had to be done. In his mind Vampires weren't really alive anyway so he felt slightly less guilty about it than when he had to kill a Hunter. As soon as the Vampire was within sight he began to creep on all fours making as little noise possible. He moved the tree roots around him to make sure he didn't step on any to give away his position. He noticed a group of deer a little ways off the path and he spoke to them telepathically. Friends, I need you to create a distraction for me, please do not fear me, just run past the cloaked figure and make it a close pass. The deer didn't respond in words of any sort but the feeling they gave off was a positive one. A second later they broke into a run towards the Vampire and made a considerable racket in doing so. Ahroun kept pace just behind them, masking his approach.

The vampire spun, hissing in spitting, letting out many profanities. In a swift movement one of the passing deer was dead, speared by knife-sharp claws.
His eyes fixed on the horse as he slumped to the ground next to his sister, unable to process what was happening. Rima on the other hand was beginning to feel better, this blood was reviving her, like water in a desert.

I am sorry friends, the monster will not go unpunished. Leaping over the dead deer's body Ahroun let out a blood curdling howl as he brought up his Barrier and commanded the roots around the Vampire's feet to entangle him. Ahroun landed just short of the Vampire and lashed out with the claws on his right hand in an overhead arc motion. The Barrier would protect his body just in case the Vampire had a chance to retaliate.

Sickening ripping sounds broke the silent air as the vampire's arm was nearly severed. He screamed in agony, throwing out the bloody clawed hand at the Were, only to have it bounce away before it could hit flesh. "Leave now before you die!" It made a mock threat, eyes burning with fiery hatred. "You have no fight with me."

"You just ruined an entire family's life, and you might have just destroyed an entire city. My fight with your kind will never end!" Ahroun snarled as he braced himself with his right leg forward, he slashed sideways with both hands, claws extended, one at neck level, the other at waist level intending to split the Vampire into three parts, the roots tightened around the Vampires ankles at this moment raising the likelihood of a clean cut.

The vampire threw a hand up with immense strength, powered even more by fury, aiming to break the Were's bones, but the claws were already shredding his flesh. Inhuman sounds exploded from his mouth, before the twitching set in as he fell.
