Ahroun almost collided with a tree but he dodged at the last second hoping that it wasn't noticed. He wasn't used to being asked his history and was caught off guard. I was not born with my gifts.... His pre-werewolf life wasn't something he liked recalling even thought it was completely free of sadness. He just hated comparing it to his life now and how different everything was. Becoming a werewolf is similar to becoming a Vampire, but sometimes Vampires are given a choice. His mind went silent after this on the subject as they darted through the forest. He sensed the sun coming up soon and was glad when they came to the river and found it was coming from the direction they were heading. "We will follow this and hope to find a cave before daybreak." He said as he began following the river upstream.

The twins shifted course, making small sounds of agreement at the same time in a very twinly fashion.
She slowly flicked in and out of his mind, trying to contemplate what he'd said. Rima inwardly felt wrong; like she'd violated, trespassed on some personal note. She was over thinking, maybe, maybe not, but curiousity was getting the better of her. So he hadn't been... werewolfed willingly? Was that it? But his words, who would willingly become a monster, a blood drinker? 'You were forced. Weren't you?'

Ahroun stopped short in front of the twins and spun around staring Rima down. "Are you snooping around in my head?" He growled lightly. "I do not approve of anything going through my memories. Stay out of my head." He said with a finality to it. For a moment he had considered telling her his story, but her going in too deep on her own put that out of the question, at least for the time being.

Rima recoiled at the sharpness of her tongue, almost like she'd been slapped, and that much was evident on her face in the split second she kept her eyes locked on his before she turned her face away, letting waves of hair hide it. She couldn't help it, and curiousity... It was like her head was purposefully being drawn into other's with promises of interesting bits and promise solving, only to recieve scolding. She needed to stop before it got her in worse trouble. "I'm sorry, and I'll stop." She said in a quiet voice.
The entire time a protective look had tightened her brother's features. A type of silent ice formed in his thoughts, a mental shield. If he so much as took a step in her direction he... He wasn;t sure what he'd do, but he knew the venom welling in his mouth was an indication it would be bad.

Ahroun nodded and said simply, "Good," before continuing along the river slowing slightly so the two could keep up. Part of him felt bad about snapping at her, but she had violated his thoughts and that was not okay in his book. He had once before had his thoughts used against him and he planned to never have it done again. Soon enough, he heard the sound of a waterfall and figured that a cave would be nearby. "We will be able to rest soon, and just in time, it is nearly sunrise." He said over his shoulder.

"Alright." Thomas answered, keeping a good ten feet behind the man. It felt right. It would allow him time to react should he snap. He was getting a feeling of alertness, keeping him informed of everything. It was the sense he got when hunting, aware of anything and everything with in a certain distance. And that was also how he noticed his sister, ever opinionated, had been thoroughly shut up. She was staying about ten to fifteen feet behind him, her eyes looking over the ripples in the river. He thought he knew why, she was thinking, most likely regretting from past experience, and also remembering perhaps the time she'd seem women be slapped for speaking their mind, or questioning others. It was rarer everyday, but it still happened.

Ahroun was right to assume that there would be caves large enough for the group around the waterfall because they had their pick when they arrived. After sniffing around a bit he figured that none of the caves had any inhabitants and were safe to stay in. "This one is large enough for us to rest in for the day without any sun entering." He stood next to it and gestured for the two to enter. He noticed for the first time how quiet Rima had been since their encounter and spoke quietly. "I'm sorry...for yelling." He caught himself by surprise at these words. He was sorry but never thought he would admit it to her outright. "Just please...don't read my thoughts, if I want you to know something, I will tell you."

She shook herself, jostled out of the memories she was trying to preserve, no matter how bad. She wouldn't forget, even if she lived to be a thousand years old, these were important. Rima vowed she wouldn't loose them, though her focus had been tangled in his words.
"I need to control myself better, it was... wrong... of me to do that." She returned equally as quiet, though still not meeting his eyes. His words, the tones, were enough. He wasn't upset, or so she hoped.

He stepped over to her slowly and patted her shoulder gently. "This is all new to you...I should have been more understanding...You're not like the other vampires I have encountered. I am unfairly comparing you to them. I will not do it again." He tilted her head up to meet his eyes. "I promise."

Thomas had to restrain himself, clasping a hand like steel over his opposite arm. If he kissed her, god so help him, though he somewhat doubted it... Protection for his older sister surged through him, making his lip twitch in effort to not bare his teeth.
She blinked in understanding, the coin-like silver of her eyes turned to liquid. "Thank you, and I will try the same." She waited a moment, not moving her face or his hand. "But since you said I need only ask, which other vampires?"

He let her neck take back the weight of her head gently as he lowered his hand. "The ones who purposefully kill and maim for the fun of it, like the one who turned you..." He trailed off and looked into the distance. He hoped that his friends were doing alright, he could contact them, but he didn't want them to figure out anything of his current predicament. He shook himself back to the here and now, "Basically the ones without morals or any humanity left in them."

"Oh... I see." She turned, and halted, reaching out a hand over his forearm, tiny and cold, but her delicate fingers resting neatly over the flesh. "Thank you." Rima let her hand fall away, and turned, starting away then.
But a feral sound tore its way from her brother's throat, and he did something he'd never done: folded into a crouch, preparing to lung. Seconds later the object that had captured his attention appeared: female vampire, eyes dark and spiteful.
"I've been tracking you all night." She snarled, brown hair loose and tangled. "How dare you kill my husband."

This couldn't have been worse timing, sunrise was a few minutes away and he didn't want the twins to be vaporized. "Your fight is with me then Vampire, your 'husband' turned the girl for no reason, her life needed to be avenged." He began his transformation and was soon in his werewolf form. He snarled at her before speaking to the twins, "Get inside the cave you two." He leaped towards and slashed at the Vampire's torso with his claws.

Thomas dove out of the way, snagging Rima by her waist as he went deeper into the cave, seeking shelter in the darkness. It was cold in this place, but also more pleasant against their skin.
The female was smarter then her mate, that much was clear from the beginning. Rather than taking the attack head on, she jumped up, aiming to target the spine with a kick. That would be a devastating blow if it made contact, especially with the force and speed a pissed off vampire could manage.

Ahroun twisted himself in mid-air slightly slower to the left than he would have to the right and threw up a barrier around his body almost too late. Most of the impact hit his right side resulting in a cracked rib or two, but had the barrier not been there he surely would have lost a lung. He ignored the pain knowing he would heal quickly later and instead focussed intently on the Vampire's thought flow and locked eye-contact with her. You really want to climb a tree right now don't you? He sent to her brain as he spoke it aloud as well. "You really want to climb a tree right now don't you?" To her, even if she could resist, his voice would be extremely suggestive and sound like the best thing in the world. He risked throwing a barrier in front of the cave in case the Vampire decided to go after the twins but he never took his eyes from her.
