He made a small sound in the back of his throat. "Come."
Perenelle called out something in Welsh, or something similar, cupping her hands around her mouth to project the sound.
Voices came in reply, a great many, before perhaps fifty Moroi exited the decent half of the building... All nobles in appearance rather than the Maids or Guard Chris was used to seeing. His face mirrored surprise for a moment, then came to a logical sollution. "Let us all go to the Great Hall, we have some business to speak of." He announced, sounding just a bit more lively.
Perenelle fell back, allowing him to get enveloped into the group. "He wasn't expecting this many." She whispered.

"How do you mean?" Azura answered, getting slightly annoyed with Melora's positioning. She was following like a dog, not walking along with him like she was supposed to be. Normally, her status would have allowed her to remain at that distance behind him out of respect, but now she was basically... In short, and in a rather convoluted, screwed up kind of way, she was his sister-girlfriend-daughter-thingy. He didn't know quite else how to put it, but none the less, she should have been beside him. "Melora," he made a forward motion with his hand, gesturing to the space before him.

Melora did as he motioned, noting his annoyance towards her habit of walking behind him at all times in order to avoid....well, what was she avoiding? Still, she wasn't entirely sure she should be walking so closely beside him, so she put some distance between them while they walked, still beside him but not terribly close. He might have been annoyed with where she was standing, but she refused to give up on her habits that easily.

She swallowed, stepping closer to Azura, seeming at ease oddly enough, and lowered her voice as they passed a few. “Normally it’s the family heads, equaling twenty. If the immediate family of each head has shown up, this could turn into a fight; somebody could challenge him for leadership. It wouldn’t be hard…” She looked sad, swallowing again. “I’m sorry King Azura Gallu, I’m getting ahead of myself before it proves necessary. It seems likely they are only curious, maybe having leads or something of that nature.”

"I didn't realize your clan was so unstable. I'd have thought this all would have been planned out before the late Lord and Lady met their end...apparently I was wrong in assuming such things could be done in a compromised state." He graced her with a smile. "We'll get it all figured out. I'm not so helpless in the ruling world as some might think."

"Things will be fine," Melora reassured Perenell after Azura had spoken to her. "I'm sure Chris will be alright." But honestly, she wasn't so sure. Chris had left at a crucial time and the person he left in charge was no where to be found. Things were not looking up in this situation. Perenell was walking beside them and had moved closer, and accordingly Melora moved and before she realized it she was close enough to Azura that she was within inches. This only served to make walking along very awkward for Melora, and she wished they would come to a stop soon.

“Where have you been?” “We needed you!” “A panic nearly arose in your absence, m’lord.” “The fiery haired woman left us, we were fearful for our lives!” Chris wanted to raise fang and claw against the uproar that consumed him, and then the footsteps echoing on the marble floor. His jaw was taunt, and he ground his teeth.
“It would have been, but he wasn’t set to take over the throne for a while, and so I believe his mother had it put off.” Perenelle supplied, smiling a little in return. She nodded in acknowledgement of Melora. “We are nearly there, newborn Vampiress.”

Azura grunted and stepped in on Chris's behalf. "He was convening with myself and the other Gallians concerning the attack on your home. We'd though the Woman put in charge was trustworthy enough to keep the lot of you in line and from hurting yourselves. You're all still alive though, right?"

Sounds of disgust rang out. “You do not-” “Nobody asked you.” “You ordered him to leave?” Many things and more along those lines rang out, before Christopher’s voice cracked like a whip over it all. “Enough.” His eyes flashed, voice nearing brutal. “Answer Azura's question.”
“Nobody.” A single male said.
“Azura, Perenelle, Melora.” Christopher gestured loosely for them to come. “Please account as to where and why I have been gone,” He spoke, “Then I will start to question them after I give my own testimony to my whereabouts..” He nodded for them to begin speaking, and took a step back.

Melora stepped forward. Despite talking out of turn, she was confident. She was met with blank stares and gazes from the vampires around her, but she ignored it in favor of saying her piece anyway. She expected Azura to back her up on this choice.
"What can you possibly have to tell us, young vampire?" One of the crowd scoffed.
"I'm simply following your leader's orders." She glanced back at Chris before continuing. "I can attest that your leader did not abandon you this entire time. He has been in the company of Azura since the incident, and in what he felt was your best interests, he put someone in charge whom he thought would be a person of responsibility." With that she stepped back beside Azura why the crowd gained volume, mumbling here and there about Melora, the former Banglaire hunter, and her involvement in the events leading up to the current situation.

Azura thought Melora handled herself well and rolled a shoulder at the crowd's request. "I just told you where he's been. He was with myself, another leader of a clan, one whom, may I remind you all, that has been allied with yours through every possible conflict your people have encountered. To show disrespect in such a way to myself and my people regarding our intentions is insulting."

A chorus of voices started, and Christopher slammed a hand down, splintering wood under the force. “Enough, all of you. You will not disrespect our guests. It is not our way, it has never been. They are to be treated as family, not as the likes of some prisoner, or whatever in God’s name you want to act they are.” His nostrils flared, and every Moroi’s eyes went wide, seeming almost scared.
Pernelle stepped foreward, gently lying a hand on his forearm, leaning in to whisper in his ear. Nodding, seeming calmed once more, he continued. "Who was present during the time of Serena's disappearance? Step foreward now, Azura, Melora, feel free to jump in if you find it necessary."
After a few minutes, a group of seventeen, mostly maids and a few Guards, but also a few Moroi, had gathered.

"Okay, I'll start if you don't mind." She stepped forward and looked around at the people who stood before her. "Right. So, can anyone tell me if you saw anyone unfamiliar to you? Did you at any point sense anyone who didn't belong here?" Melora crossed her arms and leaned back on her heels, waiting for answers.

The maids shifted uneasily, seeming to make no sound at first. The Guards on the other hand made a huddle almost like a football team, consulting before they turned and spoke, or rather a single man did. “I believe there might’ve been one. I’m not sure what Clan or type, as I only saw a glimpse during switching security.”
Chris growled, tensing up. "You left us undefended?"
"We..." He looked half tempted to try to cover his as, before he seemed to remember an additional bit. "The Lady Serena tripped, and needed help at the time..."

Azura snorted but made mo move to comment, only reclined against a piece of broken wall as he watched with a raptor's eyes at their surroundings. A point of particular interest being Melora, who scarcely took a breath without his notice. Finally, he couldn't stand it any longer. "You compromised your clan's security for a woman who isn't even formally your monarch yet?" He whistled low under his breath. "Chris, I can spare a contingent of men for replacements."
